Maciejewski offers an honest review of Effie a great 3D platformer game for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It's a bit of a tired premise, another of the many fantasy games that task the player with hunting down a handful of magical crystals. It's rare to see an indie developer make a 3D platformer as solid as Effie so grab your shield and get ready to go on one epic adventure. In order to undo the curse he must cleanse the three Gems of Evil and then defeat the witch herself. you can double jump, grab ledges and long jump. Effie puts the player in the shoes of a young man named Galand, who is turned old by an evil witch.
all of it is very mediocre, but still enjoyable… In battle youll unlock new moves as the story progresses but its basically light attack, heavy attack, blocking and special attacks… Defeating enemies and collecting the rune stones round this map ewards you with xp that levels you up to increase your special attack bar as well as health… the level design its self, again fairly standard. He narrates as you play and it just such a sweet idea Its not capitalized as well as it could be, but I still appreciate it… Everything surrounding the story and set up is pretty eh its fun to play, just not really anything special… Theres a woods hub area that you can hover around on your shield and explore, go to optional areas for some trophies, but the main goal is for you to get a shard in all 3 of the main areas… to do so youll have to battle and 3d platform you way to a bunch of keys… The 3d platforming, level design, fighting. its cute, it warms your heart as a dad tells his daughter the story of this hero.
